Up, Up & Away

Well it's been awhile again- sorry.
A few things that have happened since my last post:

Katie made Homecoming court!!! Congrats Kate! It is her senior year so there is the opportunity to be Queen- but she doesn't much care about that- she's just having fun with all the other excitement that goes with Homecoming- the float- the car...

Which is the other thing we have ALL been working on; dads '64 Corvette- it has been a lot of work- but A LOT of fun too! It has given us an excuse to spend time together. Mom's been making dinner and we eat right out by the car that way the guys don't have to completely stop working if they don't want to.

We have been bear hunting again- kill season is in full swing! We had some really good chase and even a missed shot but it was a fun trip! Gunner and I went up on Sunday and come home Thursday (I had to work Friday). It's a long drive when Gunner is in the back saying "mommy make it your song" which is Kid Rock's 'All Summer Long', and he would say this over and over again- and to keep him happy- I played it over and over again!

Our latest hurrah was flying in Grandpa Yeager's airplane. Gunner, Bob, and I went up- oh yeah and Grandpa- thought it would be a good idea to take him along :) Marcy went too but as you can see she didn't go up, she just directed air traffic- thanks Marcy! Gunner seem to like it, Bob said he was scared, but I think Bob was the one that was a little on edge. Gunner fell asleep as you can see! At first he said he did not want to go up again- but now his tune has changed a little, he thinks he would like to go up "next time".

Oh yes and let's not forget- Gunner is sleeping in HIS bed all night again. Yeah we battled with that for a little while but he's back into the grove again. Now potty training- I need to get some Cheerios. He doesn't really think he wants to use the big potty (or any potty for that matter), he tells me "maybe tomorrow, not today" it is pretty cute. I don't want this to be too much of a fight if he's not really ready then I will be the "trained" one not him- and I have enough to do- I don't need to chase a kid around and make him pee every 5 minutes!!!

Well that's about it I guess- enjoy the airplane pics!

Ohh Scares Me!!

Well Gunner and I finally made it up or "up, up, up, down, down, down, round-n-round, git gas, and feed the seagulls" as Gunner says. This is how he describes the trip over the bridge, getting off the second exit into St.Ignace after which we always fill up on both gas and lunch (usually). And if you have ever taken the second exit into St.Ignace you will know where the round-n-round comes from. Jesse has been up a few times this year- but Gunner and I have not been with him :)

This trip we did not stop for lunch as we did that as well as get groceries in Gaylord. This time we stopped for gas but continued on. We did not get very far though, we had to make a stop at the Deer Ranch. We left Friday morning with the intention of "taking our time getting there" so I insist we take the time to show Gunner the Deer Ranch. Jesse always says "maybe on the way home" and on the way home he says "well maybe next time". He says that is what his dad always told them about the Deer Ranch and Mystery Spot- I informed him that it was not going to be like that with Gunner- at least not this time :) Yes I took pictures of Gunner at the Deer Ranch- BUT they are on my phone! He did like it- he wasn't really sure about feeding them at first- but did eventually find the fun in it.

Well our trip was not made just to visit the Deer Ranch but more so to bear hunt- chase really! We did do a little of that, didn't really have any good chases though- had a hard time finding tracks. We even had a hard time finding tracks that we seen being made! We seen the bear walk down the side of the road and then cross- he was a ways down- a good 1/2 mile or maybe more so it was hard to tell where exactly he was and the road was not sandy but hard and rocky in most places so finding a track was not easy.

Because we do not have the cabin in Rexton anymore we had to take our trailer (and Rhino) and just find a place in the woods to camp for the weekend. So we stayed on state land near McMillan. It was fun but not the same. Jesse and I took Gunner for a long Rhino ride and while looking for bear tracks we stopped and walked for a little bit and Gunner would say "Here's a bear track", "I found a bear track", every two feet he would move he had "found" a track, so after half a dozen times of that Jesse finally said "you did find one"- Gunner from his crouched down position stood up and said "ohh- scares me!" It was really very cute!!! He also had a good time yelling at Uncle Shane and Aunt Katie's dogs. Oh yes a big thank you to Uncle Shane for extinguishing Gunner! Jesse threw a Coke bottle in the fire and didn't do it's usual hiss and melt- it EXPLODED and sent hot ashes flying everywhere including onto Gunner who thankfully had his back turned to the fire but who was also dressed in fleece from head to toe! Shane was the only to notice he had little "hots" all over his back and was quick to smoother them out! The next day I could see where his hair was singed. Over all we had a pretty good time and found a possible replacement cabin- pray that if it is supposed to happen that it will- seriously!

Well that is it for now- thanks for visiting :)
